Kat Cureton
Secretary
Kat began her career in Vancouver’s non-profit sector with Red Fox (2010–12) shortly after completing a master’s degree in Kinesiology at UBC. In 2011, she and Emma collaborated on a “leisure access forum” that brought city staff, researchers, and stakeholders together to discuss equitable access to public recreation for low-income families.
She spent five years developing recreation and social programs at Collingwood Neighbourhood House before joining UBC’s Community Engagement office in 2016, where she now works as an advisor on strategic partnerships.
Kat brings to the board a background in sport and recreation, project management, and programming, along with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and reconciliation.
She is eager to support Red Fox’s mission and to learn from fellow board members.
