January Zamora

January completed training at CDI College in accounting and micro-business skills.She had a career in retail and was a supervisor at Shopper’s Drug Mart for many years.

January is a cancer survivor and retired early to focus on recovery. Her treatment and recovery changed her perspective in life. “I realized that getting cancer gave me a second chance to do more service". Besides Red Fox, she volunteers at St. James Music Academy and helps Elders in the community, visiting them and helping them with everyday tasks. When asked why she has chosen to be a Board Member with Red Fox, she said, “Red Fox is like a family. It helps children and youth  feel important and that they belong, especially those who are marginalized”. She appreciates the focus on encouragement and safety.
